About Us

Dexter was founded in 2018 by a group of educators, parents, and engineers. We start with the core belief that all students are capable of achieving academic success when provided access to a supportive school environment that implements evidence-based practices.

Evidence-based

A commitment to treat education as a science that uses evidence-based practices and focuses on core academics.

Character development

We cultivate individual agency and meaning. Hard work, respect, kindness, and community engagement.

STEM focus

A focus on developing strong skills in STEM fields like computer programming, 3D printing, and mathematical reasoning.

People matter

The teachers and staff that operate a school are the key variable in providing a world-class education.

Accessible

We believe that a world class education should be accessible to all. Dexter maintains an open enrollment admissions policy.

Affordable

We're committed to keeping tuition and fees within the range of the average ESA available to families.

The First Network of ESA Schools

Legislatures across America are revolutionizing education through Education Saving Accounts that put parents at the center of the equation.

The ESA movement is rapidly transitioning the US education system into a pluralistic one where the government funds and regulates, but does not necessarily operate schools.

This new funding paradigm enables the creation of a network of ESA schools that can be provide an alternative to millions of American families.

“You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
